Community Guidelines
At IQ Abroad, we want students and exchange-program applicants to have a safe and respectful place to learn, find study partners, exchange languages, discover opportunities, and connect with other people who share similar goals.
These Community Safety Guidelines explain what is and is not allowed on IQ Abroad and in communities connected to the platform.
By using IQ Abroad, you agree to follow these guidelines.
1. Be Respectful
Treat other users with respect.
Do not:
- Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate other users.
- Use hate speech or attack people based on their nationality, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, language, or other personal characteristics.
- Repeatedly contact someone after they have asked you to stop.
- Deliberately humiliate, impersonate, or target another user.
- Encourage other people to harass or attack someone.
Different opinions are allowed. Personal attacks are not.
2. No Sexual or Exploitative Content
IQ Abroad is an educational and student-focused platform.
Do not use IQ Abroad or connected communities to:
- Share sexual or sexually explicit content.
- Sexualize minors or attempt to engage minors in sexual conversations.
- Request or distribute intimate images.
- Groom, manipulate, or exploit another person.
- Offer or request sexual services.
Any content or behavior involving the sexual exploitation of minors is strictly prohibited.
3. Protect Personal Information
Do not publicly share sensitive personal information about yourself or another person.
This includes:
- Home addresses.
- Passwords or login credentials.
- Financial information.
- Government identification documents.
- Private phone numbers or other information someone has asked you not to share.
- Private conversations, photographs, or documents without permission.
IQ Abroad allows users to connect external accounts such as Telegram, WhatsApp, and Discord. Only share contact information that you are comfortable making available to other users.
Think carefully before moving a conversation to another platform.
4. Be Careful When Meeting People Online
People you meet online may not always be who they claim to be.
IQ Abroad does not guarantee the identity, age, intentions, or background of another user.
Do not:
- Send money to people you meet through IQ Abroad.
- Give someone access to your accounts.
- Share sensitive information with someone you have just met.
- Agree to meet someone offline without taking appropriate safety precautions.
If you are under 18, talk to a parent, guardian, or another trusted adult before arranging an offline meeting with someone you met online.
5. No Scams or Fraud
Do not use IQ Abroad to deceive or financially exploit other users.
Prohibited behavior includes:
- Scams and fraudulent offers.
- Fake scholarships, programs, universities, or exchange opportunities.
- Requests for money in exchange for guaranteed admission or selection.
- Phishing links or attempts to steal accounts.
- Impersonating IQ Abroad, exchange organizations, universities, or other institutions.
- Misrepresenting your achievements, identity, or affiliations in order to deceive others.
IQ Abroad does not guarantee that information shared by users is accurate.
Always verify important information through official sources.
6. External Communities
IQ Abroad allows users to connect communities and groups hosted on external services, including Telegram and other communication platforms.
IQ Abroad does not control conversations, moderation, members, or content inside third-party communities.
The administrators and members of external groups are responsible for following the rules of the respective platform.
If you join an external community through IQ Abroad, use the same safety precautions you would use anywhere else online.
7. User Profiles and Language Exchange
Users may create profiles describing their interests, languages, goals, and preferred ways to communicate.
Profiles must not be used to:
- Harass or target other people.
- Misrepresent another person's identity.
- Promote scams or fraudulent services.
- Share prohibited content.
- Collect personal information from other users without a legitimate reason.
- Repeatedly contact users who do not want to communicate.
Language exchange and study partnerships should remain respectful and appropriate for an educational environment.
8. User-Generated Content
IQ Abroad may allow users to publish videos, posts, essays, educational materials, and other content.
You are responsible for the content you publish.
Do not upload content that:
- Violates another person's privacy or intellectual property rights.
- Contains illegal or abusive material.
- Encourages dangerous or harmful behavior.
- Contains scams or misleading claims.
- Pretends to be an official IQ Abroad announcement when it is not.
- Contains personal information about another person without permission.
You should only upload content that you have the right to publish.
9. Exchange Programs and Educational Information
IQ Abroad provides educational tools and community resources related to international exchange programs, universities, scholarships, and similar opportunities.
Information provided by IQ Abroad, users, or AI-powered features may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate.
IQ Abroad does not guarantee:
- Acceptance into an exchange program.
- Selection for FLEX, AFS, Rotary, YFU, YES, or another program.
- University admission.
- Scholarship awards.
- Visa approval.
- A particular test or application result.
Users should verify important requirements, deadlines, eligibility criteria, and application information through the official organization or institution.
10. AI-Generated Recommendations
Some IQ Abroad features may use artificial intelligence to provide educational suggestions, including recommendations for extracurricular activities.
AI-generated information is provided for informational purposes only.
AI recommendations may be inaccurate, incomplete, unsuitable, or outdated. IQ Abroad does not guarantee that an AI-generated recommendation is appropriate for a particular student or will produce a particular result.
Users should independently verify important information before acting on an AI recommendation.
11. Essay Evaluation
IQ Abroad may provide an AI-powered essay evaluation system that gives an estimated score based on predefined criteria.
An essay score is not an official score and does not represent the decision of FLEX, AFS, a university, or any other organization.
The evaluation does not guarantee:
- Passing an exchange-program selection stage.
- Passing an interview.
- Admission to a university.
- Receiving a scholarship.
- Any other educational outcome.
Essay topics and examples available on IQ Abroad are provided for practice and educational purposes. Their appearance on IQ Abroad does not mean that the same topic will appear in an actual application or selection process.
12. Practice Exams and Simulators
IQ Abroad may provide practice exams and simulations, including simulations related to FLEX.
These simulations are educational tools and are not official examinations.
Some simulations may be based on publicly shared experiences, descriptions, or recollections from people who participated in exchange programs. Real selection procedures, questions, formats, and requirements may differ.
Completing a simulation successfully does not guarantee success in a real selection process.
13. Copyright and Intellectual Property
Do not upload or distribute content that you do not have permission to use.
If you believe that content on IQ Abroad infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, please contact us through the appropriate copyright reporting process.

14. Reporting Safety Problems
If you encounter content or behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it to IQ Abroad.
When making a report, provide enough information for us to understand the issue, such as the relevant profile, post, group, or content.
Do not publicly expose someone's private information when reporting a problem.
15. Enforcement
IQ Abroad may take action when we determine that these guidelines have been violated.
Depending on the situation, actions may include:
- Removing content.
- Restricting access to certain features.
- Removing a user from a community.
- Suspending or terminating an account.
- Restricting access to connected services.
- Reporting serious or potentially illegal activity to appropriate authorities when required or appropriate.
We may take action against behavior that creates a significant safety risk even if it is not specifically listed in these guidelines.
16. Keep the Community Safe
IQ Abroad works best when users look out for themselves and others.
Before sharing something, ask yourself:
Is it respectful?
Is it safe?
Do I have the right to share it?
Could this put another person at risk?
If you are unsure, it is better not to share it.
