This Privacy Policy explains how IQ Abroad ("IQ Abroad", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information when you use iqabroad.com, our educational tools, community features, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using IQ Abroad, you acknowledge that your personal information may be processed as described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Who Operates IQ Abroad

IQ Abroad is currently operated by an independent individual and is not necessarily operated through a separate legal entity.

2. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on the features you use.

2.1 Account and Authentication Information

IQ Abroad uses Supabase Auth for account authentication.

IQ Abroad currently uses passwordless Magic Link authentication. Users do not create or provide a password to IQ Abroad.

To register or sign in, IQ Abroad may collect and process your email address and account identifiers associated with your Supabase account.

A Magic Link is sent to the email address you provide and is used to authenticate your account. Supabase documents Magic Links as a passwordless authentication method.

IQ Abroad does not ask users to create an IQ Abroad password.

Authentication and account-related information may be processed by Supabase as an infrastructure and authentication provider on behalf of IQ Abroad.

2.2 Profile Information

You may choose to add information to your IQ Abroad profile, including:

  • Display name.
  • Age or age range.
  • Country or general location.
  • Languages you speak.
  • Languages you are learning.
  • Language proficiency.
  • Educational interests.
  • Exchange-program interests.
  • University interests.
  • Hobbies and interests.
  • Personal description.
  • Profile image or avatar.
  • Links to external services.

Some profile information may be made publicly visible depending on the feature and your settings.

You should not publish sensitive personal information on your public profile.

2.3 Telegram, WhatsApp and Discord

IQ Abroad may allow you to add links or contact information for third-party communication platforms such as:

  • Telegram.
  • WhatsApp.
  • Discord.

If you choose to publish one of these links on your profile or community page, other users may be able to access the link and contact you through the relevant third-party service.

IQ Abroad does not control conversations or personal data processed by those third-party services.

IQ Abroad generally does not receive the private contents of your conversations on Telegram, WhatsApp, or Discord merely because you publish a link to one of those services.

2.4 TikTok Integration

IQ Abroad may allow users to connect their TikTok account to their IQ Abroad profile or Content Hub.

TikTok information is accessed only after the user authorizes the IQ Abroad TikTok integration and grants the applicable permissions.

Depending on the permissions granted and approved for the IQ Abroad TikTok application, IQ Abroad may receive or access the following information:

May provide basic TikTok profile information such as:

  • TikTok open identifier.
  • Profile avatar.
  • Display name.

user.info.profile

May provide additional profile information such as:

  • TikTok profile link.
  • Profile/deep link.
  • Bio description.
  • Verification status.

user.info.stats

May provide profile statistics such as:

  • Follower count.
  • Following count.
  • Like count.
  • Public video count.

video.list

May provide information about the user's public TikTok videos.

TikTok's current developer documentation describes these permissions and the corresponding profile and video information.

IQ Abroad does not use these permissions to publish videos to TikTok, unless a separate permission and feature is introduced and explicitly disclosed.

IQ Abroad only requests and processes the TikTok permissions necessary for the features provided.

Users can revoke previously granted TikTok permissions through TikTok's available account authorization controls.

2.5 Content Hub

When you publish content through the Content Hub, we may collect and store:

  • Content title.
  • Description.
  • Thumbnail or preview image.
  • Video or content URL.
  • Author/profile information.
  • Linked TikTok or other content accounts.
  • Posts, articles, videos, or other materials you submit.
  • Relevant technical metadata.

Content that you intentionally publish publicly may be visible to other IQ Abroad users and, depending on the page configuration, other visitors or search engines.

2.6 Communities and Groups

IQ Abroad may allow users to create or connect external communities.

For example, a user may connect a Telegram group to a community page on IQ Abroad.

We may process:

  • Community name.
  • Description.
  • Public URL or invite link.
  • Community image.
  • Information provided by the community creator or administrator.
  • Information needed to display the community on IQ Abroad.

IQ Abroad does not automatically collect all messages or conversations inside an external Telegram, WhatsApp, or Discord community unless a specific integration explicitly states otherwise.

2.7 Essays and Educational Submissions

When you use the Essay Checker or another educational writing feature, we may collect:

  • Essay text.
  • Essay topic.
  • Evaluation criteria or category.
  • AI-generated score.
  • AI-generated feedback.
  • Related submission information.

You should not include passwords, financial information, government identification numbers, home addresses, or other unnecessary sensitive information in your essays.

2.8 AI-Powered Features

Some IQ Abroad features use artificial intelligence.

These may include:

  • Essay evaluation.
  • Essay feedback.
  • Activities Finder.
  • Educational recommendations.
  • Other AI-powered features.

Information submitted to an AI feature may be processed by IQ Abroad and by third-party technology providers used to provide that feature.

2.9 Activities Finder

Activities Finder may process information you provide in order to generate extracurricular activity recommendations.

This may include:

  • Educational interests.
  • Skills.
  • Location or region.
  • School-related information.
  • Interests.
  • Other information provided to the feature.

Recommendations are AI-generated and may be inaccurate, incomplete, unavailable, or outdated.

2.10 Technical Information

When you use IQ Abroad, we may automatically process technical information such as:

  • IP address.
  • Browser type.
  • Operating system.
  • Device type.
  • Approximate location derived from technical information.
  • Language preferences.
  • Pages and features accessed.
  • Date and time of requests.
  • Error logs.
  • Security and diagnostic information.

This information may be used to maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.

3. How We Use Information

We may use personal information to:

  • Create and maintain accounts.
  • Authenticate users.
  • Provide IQ Abroad features.

If you choose to make information public, it may be visible to other users and, depending on the feature, to visitors outside your IQ Abroad account.

  • Profile image.
  • Languages.

  • Educational goals.
  • Public profile description.
  • TikTok information you choose to connect or display.
  • Public videos or Content Hub content.
  • Community links.
  • Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord, or other contact links that you choose to publish.

Please carefully consider what information you choose to make public.

5. TikTok Data Use

TikTok information obtained through the IQ Abroad integration is used to provide features such as displaying a user's authorized TikTok profile information and public TikTok videos on IQ Abroad.

IQ Abroad does not sell TikTok user information.

We do not use TikTok information for purposes unrelated to the functionality disclosed to users without appropriate authorization.

The specific data IQ Abroad can access depends on the permissions approved by TikTok and granted by the user.

6. Third-Party Service Providers

IQ Abroad may use third-party providers for:

  • Authentication and account infrastructure.
  • Database hosting.
  • Website hosting.
  • AI processing.
  • Email delivery.
  • Analytics.
  • Security.
  • Error monitoring.

Current or potential providers may include Supabase (database, storage, and authentication hosted in Japan), Google (advertising through Google AdSense), and third-party AI technology providers used by IQ Abroad.

These providers may process personal information on behalf of IQ Abroad where necessary to provide their services.

Google AdSense and Online Advertising

IQ Abroad may display third-party advertisements on the Service through Google AdSense and related Google advertising technologies.

Google and other advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to:

  • Limit how often you see an ad.

IQ Abroad may interact with third-party services including:

Each third-party service has its own terms and privacy policy.

IQ Abroad is not responsible for how those external services independently process information.

For TikTok specifically, IQ Abroad accesses information through TikTok's authorized developer interfaces and only after applicable user authorization.

8. AI Processing

When you submit information to an AI-powered feature, the submitted information may be sent to an external AI service provider used by IQ Abroad.

Depending on the feature, this may include essay text, educational interests, activity preferences, or other information provided by the user.

IQ Abroad uses AI-generated information for educational and informational purposes.

AI output can be incorrect, incomplete, biased, or outdated.

AI-generated results should not be treated as an official decision by FLEX, AFS, Rotary, YFU, YES, a university, or any other educational organization.

9. International Data Transfers

Some providers used by IQ Abroad may process information outside Kazakhstan. Personal data, profile information, and authentication details are stored and processed using Supabase infrastructure hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Japan (Tokyo region, ap-northeast-1).

Where personal data is transferred across borders, IQ Abroad takes reasonable steps required by applicable law to protect user data.

10. Data Storage and Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

11. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your IQ Abroad account and associated personal information by contacting:

When an account is deleted, we will take reasonable steps to delete associated personal information, subject to information that we are required or permitted to retain under applicable law.

Public content may require additional handling where it has already been published or shared.

12. Disconnecting TikTok

You may disconnect your TikTok account from IQ Abroad.

When TikTok is disconnected, IQ Abroad may stop requesting new information from your TikTok account.

Information previously stored by IQ Abroad may remain for a limited period where necessary to complete deletion, maintain records, prevent abuse, comply with law, or for another lawful purpose.

Where applicable, you may also revoke IQ Abroad's authorization through TikTok's own account controls.

13. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including the right to:

  • Request information about processing.
  • Request access to personal information.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion or blocking where legally applicable.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Object to certain forms of processing where permitted by law.
