How Communities support exchange preparation

Preparing alone is hard. IQ Abroad Communities are interest-based groups where applicants and alumni share timelines, essay drafts (when comfortable), and interview questions. This article explains how they work before you create an account.

What Communities are

Communities are topic-focused spaces - often organized by program (FLEX, AFS, YFU, Rotary) or language. Members post questions, resources, and encouragement during selection season.

Moderation keeps discussions safe: harassment, spam, and off-topic ads are removed according to our Community Safety Guidelines.

How to participate productively

Introduce yourself with your target program and graduation year. Ask specific questions instead of “Any tips?”

Share what already helped you - a practice test score improvement, essay structure, or mock interview routine - so others can learn.

Respect privacy: do not post full application essays publicly if your program forbids sharing.

Free vs Premium

Joining Communities and reading posts is free after registration. Premium adds AI essay feedback and advanced simulations; it is optional for community access.
